Yorke Peninsula Council is pleased to advise that it has recently purchased four Defibrillators for community access.

Approximately 30,000 Australians suffer Sudden Cardiac Arrest each year.   Cardiac arrest can strike without warning to anyone, anywhere and at any time.  The first five minutes holds the key to a patient’s optimum survival.

YPC CEO Andrew Cameron explained “Yorke Peninsula Council recognises that early resuscitation provides the best chance for recovery from sudden cardiac arrest.”

The community can access these units during business hours at:

Maitland Council office                                      8 Elizabeth Street

Minlaton Visitor Information Centre             29 Main Street

Yorketown Council office                                  15 Edithburgh Road

Warooka Depot                                                   Player Street

SA Ambulance Service volunteer Mark Austin demonstrated the use of hands only CPR and correct use of the defibrillators to Council staff over several sessions last week.

The four defibrillators complement an additional two units that have been provided by YPC to Port Vincent Foreshore and Marion Bay caravan parks.
