Wellington Shire Council is undertaking a $45,000 refurbishment to the Sale Lake Guthridge Interactive Playspace.

The playspace is positioned between Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt in Sale and it was identified as needing an upgrade as part of Council’s playground renewal program. Works commenced at the end of April and are almost complete.

Wellington Shire Council General Manager Built and Natural Environment Chris Hastie says: “It is great to see this area getting a makeover. This is a special playspace that allows children to learn and become more involved with the natural environment and be physically active.”

The upgrades include the installation of a new rope climbing structure; replacement of failing spinners and painting of the rock wall; vegetation works and the planting of shrubs and grasses; installation of hopscotch tiles; construction of narrow gravel paths meandering through the vegetated areas to create adventure for the children and to spark their imagination, and refurbishment of the timber animal carvings by local artist, John Brady.
