Wellington Shire Council has teamed up with Yarram Community Learning Centre to invite interested community members to attend an informative workshop on how to attract volunteers and keep them.
The free workshop includes practical tips and tricks to help community groups and clubs recruit and retain volunteers.
This hands-on workshop is being delivered by Council’s Community Engagement Officer Anna Larkin, who has many years of experience working with and alongside organisations who are often managed and run by volunteers.
Wellington Shire Council Acting General Manger Sharon Houlihan says, “Volunteers are crucial to the success of our communities and organisations across Wellington Shire. Being a volunteer is a great way to support people or groups who need a helping hand.
“Groups often find it difficult to find and keep volunteers, so this free workshop is a fantastic opportunity for community members who are involved with volunteers to gain some useful information.”
The workshop is being held on Tuesday 29 August 2017 at the Yarram Community Learning Centre, 292 Commercial Road, Yarram. Soup and sandwiches will be served from 6.00pm and the workshop will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
