Have you ever visited your local park or nature reserve and wished you knew more about its unique plants and native critters? Recently, we installed environmental interpretation signs that will help you do just that at Markham Reserve (Ashburton), South Surrey Park (Surrey Hills) and Nettleton Park (Glen Iris).
Bursting with information about each park’s special features, natural history, ecology and resident birdlife, the signs are the latest in an ongoing signage roll-out, arising from the City’s Urban Biodiversity Strategy. In Markham Reserve alone, there are six small signs and one large sign along the creek and near the playground.
Keen to learn more about some of our other precious natural spaces? Check out the interpretive signs already in place at Willsmere Billabong, Koonung Creek, Burke Road South Wetlands, Hays Paddock and Freeway Golf Course -- and stay tuned for news of more to come later this year.
