Steve Edgington has won the role of President for the Barkly Regional Council (BRC).

Mr Edgington was officially declared the winner at a formal announcement of results by the NT Electoral Commission in Alice Springs on 4 September. Council is split into four wards, Patta, Alpurrurulam, Alyawarr and Kuwarrangu, with a total of 12 councillors and one President representing the Barkly region. There were 12 candidates fighting for five positions on Patta Ward with Hal Ruger retaining his position as councillor and Kris Civitarese, Sid Vashist, Jeffrey McLaughlin and Ronald Plummer now all serving as councillors. Jennifer Mahoney retains her position as councillor for Alpurrurulam as does Ray Aylett for Kuwarrangu with Jane Evans also representing this ward. Lucy Jackson, Jack Clubb, Noel Hayes and Ricky Holmes will all serve as councillors for Alyawarr.
