There's three weeks left to become part of a Local Authority in your community
Posted: Sunday, 1 October 2017
The nomination period for Local Authority members in Ali Curung, Alpurrurulam, Arlparra, Ampilatwatja, Elliott, Wutunugurra and Tennant Creek is still OPEN. Local Authorities are important for the Barkly Regional Council as they advise Council on service delivery plans and gives specific advice on community and social projects that can improve the life of residents. Authorities also alert Council to new and emerging issues in the community. Nominations for all Local Authorities in the Barkly region opened on 15 September and close on Friday, 20 October 2017. People nominated must be over the age of 18 years and living in or identifying with the community. Nomination forms will be available throughout the 28-day period specified from your Council office or Download here and must be with the Council Area Manager or BRC CEO Steve Moore by 4.30pm on Friday, 20 October 2017.
