Nominations for the Bland Shire Australia Day awards have been extended until next Wednesday 6 December.
With wet weather predicted over the coming few days, the extension will provide residents with an additional opportunity to nominate a deserving individual, group or event for Bland Shire Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year, Community Event of the Year, Achievement in Sport and Contribution to Sport.
“The recent announcement of the successful batonbearers for the West Wyalong leg of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay showcased the range and quality of our many volunteers, athletes and high achievers,” Bland Shire Council General Manager, Ray Smith said.
“The Bland Shire Australia Day awards are another opportunity to recognise the many groups and individuals who contribute so strongly to our community and what better opportunity than a rainy weekend.”
People can nominate online at www.blandshire.nsw.gov.au, collect a form from Council or phone 6972 2266 to arrange for a form to be sent to you.
