Triathlon Moved to Town

The Triathlon will now start from the Tennant Creek Swimming Pool with a 200m swim, followed by a 2km bike ride and 2km run.

Participants are urged to arrive at the swimming pool entrance no later than 6am as the Triathlon will start at 6.15am sharp.

If enough kids (12-17) show interest, we can alter the Triathlon to 100m swim, 1 km bike ride and 1km run. 

The following roads will be temporarily closed for the Triathlon. 

The northbound lane of Ambrose Street, from the Peko Road roundabout to the intersection with Stuart Street, the eastbound lane of Stuart Street to the corner of Perry Drive, the southbound lane of Perry Drive to the corner of Peko Road and the westbound lane of Peko Road to the swimming pool carpark.

The lanes outlined on these roads will be temporarily closed from 6.15am-7.15am. Detours and traffic management will be in place.

As participants will be running and riding on the road, please adhere to all traffic management rules to ensure a successful and safe Triathlon.

Please register before Australia Day on Friday, 26 January as no late registrations will be accepted.

The Tennant Creek Swimming Pool will close once the Triathlon has finished and WILL NOT REOPEN for Australia Day. Normal pool operations will resume on Saturday, 27 January.
