A spectacular celebration of music, food and colour will come to Fairfield city centre in early April, showcasing talented performers from Western Sydney.
Fairfield Live Art, Music and Entertainment (FLAME) Festival is a new free Council initiative which will activate Fairfield city centre on Friday 6 April, 5pm-9pm.
“The festival combines great music, entertainment, food and culture, celebrating the talent and diversity of the Fairfield City and wider Western Sydney communities,” Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said.
“We have partnered with several local businesses to deliver an exciting multi-venue festival that showcases our region’s talented community and authentic international cuisine in one spectacular evening for locals and visitors.”
“Plenty of musicians will perform contemporary pop, rock, hip-hop and other genres, but many performers will reflect Fairfield City’s proud cultural diversity.”
Musicians will be spread across several venues including restaurants, a bookshop, bowling alley and other locations, each curated with its own distinct musical flavour.
“Council and I are proud to provide exciting community events that bring people together in celebration of our City’s cultural diversity, while also providing musicians an opportunity to perform locally,” Mayor Carbone said.
“In addition to free entertainment, festival attendees can enjoy authentic and delicious Middle Eastern, Latin American and Asian cuisine from Fairfield’s many eateries.”
“I encourage everyone to come along and have a great night out in Fairfield with friends and family.”
Council encourages attendees to share their best pictures and videos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the official hashtag #FLAME18. All posts using the official hashtag will be automatically entered into a random draw to win a prize pack worth more than $300 which includes an instant camera, film, storage case and a movie voucher.
FLAME Festival will be held on Friday 6 April, 5pm - 9pm in Fairfield city centre. Visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/FLAME for a festival map and further information.
FLAME Festival has been made possible through funding from Create NSW on behalf of the NSW State Government, in partnership with the Live Music Office.
