The families of Bassendean have long envisioned a nature based play space at Sandy Beach Reserve. This playground project has progressed to the stage where the concept design will be refined in response to the comments received from our community. There is now an opportunity to come together, consider the feedback that has been submitted and help shape the final design. This community forum will be held on Wednesday 28 March from 6-8pm in the Bassendean Community Hall.
Cr Renée McLennan, Mayor of the Town of Bassendean said, “With backyards decreasing in size, quality play spaces are becoming increasingly important. Input from our community members is crucial to achieving a great outcome for this project and we encourage everyone who is interested to come along and contribute”.
“Being the mother of two young children I know first hand the challenges that being a parent can present to participation. To help remove some of these barriers, our Council recently decided to offer the parents of our Town a free crèche service during public meetings such as this. It is hoped that the availability of the crèche will make it easier for parents of young children to be involved.”
If you want to participate in this important discussion about the future playground’s design but need your children to be cared for while you do, please email [email protected] or phone 92793773 to register. The crèche will be staffed by “Wind In The Willows” early childhood educators and is available for children aged 0-12 years. So that the Town’s staff have plenty of time to organize care to meet the needs of your children, please register for the crèche by Friday 23rd of March.
