Colourful kaleidoscopic exhibition coming soon

Children will be entertained and educated at an exciting new Fairfield City Museum & Gallery exhibition launching on 14 April.
Fort Thunder: An Electro-Acoustic Playground, with work created by artists Lucas Abela and Keg de Souza, is an immersive and interactive kaleidoscope of sound and colour, designed with little hands and feet in mind.
Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said the exhibition promises to engage children, and the young at heart, in a festival for the senses.
“There are so many interesting and creative ways for children to interact with, and learn from, the world,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Lucas Abela and Keg de Souza’s interactive indoor playground of sound, colour and light is a new exhibition experience for Fairfield City families.”
“The artists have created various tactile artworks using strings, springs, chimes, microphones, pick-ups and oscillators that encourage children’s play by moving joysticks, hitting buttons and pulling knobs to produce a variety of sounds in a musical fun zone.”
“I encourage parents and carers to come along with their children and experience this kaleidoscope of sound and colour with their young ones during its run at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery between 14 April and 21 July.”
The exhibition’s launch day will include a workshop for children aged 8-12 years from 12.30-1.30pm, where exhibiting artists Lucas Abela and Keg de Souza will lead the children to create a composition to be performed during the event opening at 2pm.
