The removal of 45 trees along both sides of Prince Street, Rosedale will begin in early May as part of the Rosedale Revitalisation Project.
The trees, located between the Coach Lamp Motel to Hood Street, will be replaced with 100 advanced Red Maples, which the Rosedale people selected as the preferred tree during community consultation completed in late 2017.
The trees will significantly improve the entrance into Rosedale and will complement the other works involved in the project including new footpath construction, improvements to Willow Park and the reconstruction of the roundabout being completed by VicRoads.
