A series of free workshops and resources are available to help enhance the knowledge and skills of community groups and clubs in the City of Wanneroo.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the workshops would provide information on topics such as legal requirements, recruiting volunteers, applying for funding and hosting successful community events.

“The City of Wanneroo is home to many dedicated groups and clubs who all contribute to the vibrant makeup of our City,” Mayor Roberts said. “These free information sessions are being offered to help our local community groups and clubs thrive and grow.”

Associations New Law Thursday 10 May / 6 - 7.30pm / Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre Did you know that incorporated groups need to update their Constitution (rules)? Learn about the requirements of the Associations Incorporations Act 2015.

Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Thursday 17 May / 6 - 8pm / Clarkson Library Take a fascinating look into volunteer recruitment and retention for groups and clubs.

Cheque us out Saturday 9 June / 10.30am - 12.30pm / Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, and Saturday 14 July / 10.30am - 12.30pm / Girrawheen Library Learn about the City of Wanneroo’s Community Funding Program and how this opportunity can support community groups.

How to run a community event Thursday 28 June / 6 - 7.30pm / Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre Learn how to successfully plan and deliver community events.

“A range of helpful downloadable resources are also available on the City’s website to help set up new community clubs and groups,” Mayor Roberts said.
