Woopi Library Gets a Makeover

Thanks to a NSW State Library grant of over $52,000 Woolgoolga Library is about to get an interior upgrade.

“The main improvements people will notice will be a new front counter and upgraded public computer areas. There will also be some new shelving and a change to the shelving layout,” said Catherine Turner, Council’s Library Operations Coordinator.

“It does mean that we will have to close completely for one day on June 12 and there will be reduced services for two weeks, but I promise the changes will be well worth the inconvenience.”

The library will be closed on Tuesday, June 12, and reopen with reduced services from Wednesday, June 13, until Saturday, June 23.

During the reduced services period, entry will be via the southern end of the library (through the carport door) during normal hours.

At that time, users will be able to:

use the external returns chute; borrow and return items; pick up reservations; use the free wifi; and access a small selection of items from the collection.

Users will not be able to:

use public computers; complete any printing, photocopying and scanning; or access most of the collection and the meeting room.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience, but the library will reopen as normal on Monday, June 25, and we really hope people will pop in to see and enjoy the enhanced facilities,” added Ms Turner.
