The countdown to the 2018 Rural Summit is on, with East Gippsland Shire Council looking forward to welcoming delegates from across the state to the region.
The summit is Rural Councils Victoria’s major annual event and will be held in Lakes Entrance from May 16-18.
Mayor Cr Joe Rettino said the summit is a forum for councils, business and industry leaders to examine the unique and diverse challenges faced by rural towns.
“This year’s conference and speakers will focus on liveability and will look at the factors that develop lifestyle opportunities in rural communities,” Cr Rettino said.
“Council is inviting local community, business and industry leaders to attend the whole conference or the Thursday morning session. As well as keynote speakers Claire Madden and Chris Riddell, 18 other inspirational speakers are attending the conference.”
Claire Madden is a renowned business consultant, social researcher and generational expert. She is highly regarded for her ability to interpret the meaning and impact of global social and generational trends for educators, managers and marketers.
