The second stage of improvement works is due to begin at Wombarra Beach Rock Pool after Council committed funds to repair and upgrade the pool
Wombarra rock pool is one of the popular ocean pools along the city’s magnificent coastline and is in need of some care. Council has allocated $5 million over the next four years to ensure we can continue to use our rock pools for decades to come.
The works are essential to maintain the structural integrity of the site and will involve repairs to the pool walls, installation of a new access ladder, extension of a new seawall and construction of a new beach access ramp.
This work will be the second round of work on Wombarra Beach Rock Pool after the southern sea wall was replaced in 2015.
The pool will remain open during the initial stage of work, but will close for the duration of construction which is due to begin in June.
Work will be completed over the winter to minimise disruption to users. Alternative swimming locations can be found on the Beaches and Pools page of our website. For more information, you can contact Council’s Customer Service on (02) 4227 7111 or visit our website.
