Sewer Maintenance and Rehabilitation Works – Keep Toilet Seats Down

During May and August 2018, Moree Plains Shire Council will be undertaking maintenance and rehabilitation of Moree sewer network and has contracted Interflow to conduct maintenance to the sewer mains in the areas indicated in red on the map.

Households in the affected areas have received letters in their mailboxes describing the activities associated with this works as:

**  Cleaning and Closed Circuit CCTV inspections of the main sewer pipes

**  Relining of sewer pipes by insertion of a liner through maintenance holes

**  Some excavation work

Some residents may experience an increase in noise, vehicle movements and odour from the sewer while work is being carried out. We appreciate the effects the work may have on surrounding residents and every effort will be made by the contractor to minimise any impacts.

While the work is being carried out it, residents should:

**  Keep toilet seat down - There is small risk of pressure build up that may cause back pressure in your toilet. While work is being carried out you are strongly advised to close the toilet seat lid and place a weight on top

**  Limit use of toilets, baths, showers, sinks, dishwashers, washing machines

** Do not backwash swimming pools when work is being carried out.

** Ensure all pets are safely tethered to ensure safe access for workers

Working hours will be from Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.

If you have any concerns regarding the works please contact:

Interflow’s Central Coast office number 02 4393 3250 or contact Council’s Water and Sewer Department on 6752 3222.
