Helping Learner Drivers Become Safe Drivers – Free Workshop

Moree Plains Shire Council in conjunction with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will be holding a free workshop for learner drivers and their parents and supervisors at the Moree Plains Shire Council Committee Room, Level 1, 30 Heber Street Moree on Thursday, 24 May 2018 commencing at 6:00pm.

The Moree Plains Shire Road Safety Officer, Mrs Renee McMillan said “the two hour workshops offer parents, supervisors and learner drivers practical advice regarding effective driving practice.”

“The RMS recognises the important role parents and supervisors play in advising and supporting novice drivers and as such; developed the Helping Learner Drivers become Safer Drivers Workshop to support and better prepare them for the job.” Mrs McMillan said.

The course will cover topics such as how to use the Learner Driver Log Book, how to plan on road driving sessions, how to deal with difficulties that may arise during driving practice and the importance of giving the learner constructive feedback.

Parents and supervisors who attended the course in the past found it boosted their confidence, helped them better plan driving sessions and allowed them to share their experiences with other parents and supervisors.

Bookings for the Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers course are essential and can be made by calling Mrs McMillan on 02 6757 3277 or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
