Antique Aeroplanes at the Moree Regional Airport

The community is invited to witness the action of 40 antique aeroplanes and welcome the pilots when they have their stop-over in Moree on 9th and 10th May 2018 as part of the nine-day flight pilgrimage across rural NSW and QLD celebrating 90 years of the Flying Doctor’s service.
The skies over the black soil plains will herald the antique aeroplane cavalcade on Wednesday 9 May between 10am-12noon and members of the public can view the planes up-close at the Moree Regional Airport from 3.30pm-5pm, the same day.
Council’s Engineering and Airport Manager Fiona McClymont explained the air pilgrimage marks 90 years of service to the community, and the gratitude to the amazing volunteers, committees and community fundraisers that have supported the efforts of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
“There are some amazing stories that members of the community have about the live-saving support the Royal Flying Doctor Service has provided over the years.”
“The 90th air pilgrimage will be a spectacular sight around the skies of Moree and viewing the fleet at our local airport will be a real treat for many,” said Mrs McClymont.
The fleet will leave Moree on 10 May between 8am-9am.
