MEDIA RELEASE 21 May 2018
Members of the public are invited to the launch of Graham Lupp’s publication, Building Bathurst, the definitive architectural history of the built heritage of Bathurst on Friday, 25 May at 6.00pm at BMEC.
Mayor Graeme Hanger OAM said the publication is a valuable asset in recording and preserving the history of the city.
“The two volume publication is a celebration of the lives of the architects, builders, carpenters, brick makers, ‘mechanics’ and artisans responsible for Bathurst’s reputation as a “red brick town” in its first century,” he said
“Building Bathurst records the history of Bathurst’s 19th and early 20th century buildings.”
Following the official launch, a follow-up open weekend for further discussion of the book and to view the collections of paintings of Bathurst buildings will be held at Grahams Lupp’s Studio on Saturday and Sunday.
The publication is currently available for sale at the Civic Centre, BVIC and BRAG. After the launch it will be available at BooksPlus.
