To be held on Monday, May 21 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Alexandra Oval Community Centre, the event will provide an opportunity to celebrate and thank the many people in our municipality who participate in a volunteering capacity both formal and informal.

Ararat Rural City Council Deputy Mayor, Cr Gwenda Allgood said without the valuable work of local helpers, many of our services, events and recreational activities would not be able to function.

“We would like to recognise people who take part in any form of volunteering in our community,” Cr Allgood said.

“If you would like to nominate a person for special recognition, please do so by completing a nomination form which can be collected from Council's Customer Service at the Municipal Office.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to those members who are the lifeblood of our community and to let them know how much they are appreciated.”

Nomination forms must be returned to Ararat Rural City Council by post (PO Box 246, Ararat, Vic 3377) or email ([email protected]) no later than Monday, May 14.  Please also include your own contact details in case further information is required.

To attend the Volunteer Week celebration event on May 21, please RSVP with the names of those who will be attending, as well as any special dietary requirements, by Wednesday, May 16. A light supper will be provided.

“This year Ararat Rural City Council would love to see anyone who volunteers come along and take part in the night,” Cr Allgood said.
