Council is currently completing a number of road works across the shire, with more planned to start in coming weeks. These include:
Footpath network Romsey streetscape works in Main Street. Campaspe River Trail, Kyneton Footpath missing links: White Avenue, Park Lane and Murphy Street, Romsey. Wyralla Crescent, Kilmore-Mill Road and Fisher Street, Gisborne. Barry Road, New Gisborne.These footpath works will improve infrastructure and transport links, and pedestrian safety around the shire.
Other footpath works recently completed include:
Prince Street, Gisborne, between Fisher Street & Hamilton Street. Doriemus Court, New Gisborne Donnithorne Street and Ebden Street, Kyneton Nursery Road, Macedon Main Road, Riddells Creek Forest Street, Anslow Street, Bowen Street, Corinella Road and Pyke Street, Woodend.Macedon Ranges Shire Council will deliver 23 new footpaths by the end of June 2018.
Road network Kyneton-Springhill Road, between Coliban Downs Road and the Coliban Reservoir, and near the intersection of Springhill Road, Springhill. Victoria Street, Kyneton (from Beauchamp Street to Elizabeth Avenue) with works to upgrade the road to provide a smoother road surface and kerb, and channel works to stop flooding and improved drainage.The following works–jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government–are due to be completed by the end of June 2018:
Burke and Wills Track, Baynton (between Sidonia Road and Annek Lane) will undergo an upgrade of the pavement and seal with minor drainage works. Sidonia Road, Pastoria will receive an upgrade of the road pavement and seal with minor drainage works. Drainage network upgrades Devonshire Lane, Macedon – Council will be installing a stormwater treatment asset within the road reserve. Gardiner Reserve, Gisborne – Stormwater drainage pipe upgrade in the sports area. Goode Street, Gisborne – Stormwater pipe and pit works at the intersection of Goode Street and Robertson Street Hotham Avenue, Mount Macedon – Upgrade drainage system to pipe from Ferrier Street to the end of Hotham Avenue. Prince Street, Gisborne – Upgrade existing infrastructure and extend the stormwater pipe to achieve more rainwater catchment from Fisher street to Hamilton Street. Public toilet upgradesCouncil is upgrading three public toilets in the shire over the next few months, which will result in temporary closure of these sites.
Works at Campaspe Park in Woodend, and at Riddells Creek Recreation Reserve are now complete, with upgrades underway on public toilets at Lancefield Town Centre (on the Crescent opposite the Grain Store). During the closure, public toilets are available in the new Lancefield Park netball building.
