Mosman Junction Upgrade

The major upgrade to Mosman Junction is at the halfway point, with the third of five stages underway on Prince Albert Street.

The first two stages are now complete, including the two alfresco dining areas, improvements to the roundabout and the installation of a new pedestrian crossing at Middle Head Road.

Middle Head Road has been reopened following the completion of the second stage, while Prince Albert Street will be closed from early to late June 2018 with half/half road closures on Bradleys Head Road from early July to early August 2018.

The final stage will involve the installation of lighting, furniture and landscaping with the upgrade works scheduled for completion in late August 2018.

The changes will create a new pedestrian-friendly outdoor space and will include landscaping works and the installation of additional lighting and outdoor furniture to promote outdoor dining along with new pedestrian crossings which will be installed at Middle Head and Bradleys Head roads and Prince Albert Street and the closure of a slip lane.

The project follows community requests for additional outdoor and evening dining opportunities and works are being staged in five sections to reduce the impact to residents, businesses and road users as temporary street and footpath closures are required.

Notification of temporary road closures is being provided to local residents and businesses. Additionally, there will be temporary changes to parking and public transport. For further information, please refer to the Council’s Works and Alerts website.

Access will be maintained to all restaurants, cafes and shops around Mosman Junction but there will be some parking restrictions where needed.

The jacaranda tree located in front of The Buena was replaced with an advanced jacaranda after Council’s arborists found the original tree couldn’t be retained with the new kerb unless its structural roots were removed.
