Local projects benefit from Annual Community Strengthening Grants
City of Boroondara 22 May 2018

Boroondara’s Annual Community Strengthening Grants program is a fantastic opportunity for local community groups to apply for funding to implement projects, run events or provide services that benefit the Boroondara community.

The annual grants program is designed to foster community-led initiatives that promote social inclusion, address community needs and improve the health and wellbeing of Boroondara residents.

Co-funded by City of Boroondara and the Rotary Club of Balwyn, the annual grants have five streams: Creative Community, Active Community, Sustainable Community, Healthy Community and Actively Ageing Community.

A total of 87 programs and events received funding in 2017, such as the My Family and I project run by the Salvation Army, which uses drama and art therapy to build confidence in marginalised youth, the construction of a raised garden bed and compost system at the University of the Third Age and the implementation of a secondary school lawn bowls program at the Camberwell Central Bowls Club.

Applications for the 2018 grants are open until Monday 28 May. If you have a project or idea that could benefit the Boroondara community, head to the Annual Community Strengthening Grants page on our website.
