Local residents can now pick up free shredded mulch while stocks last at Eurobodalla Shire Council's waste management facilities in Brou, Surf Beach and Moruya.
The free mulch has been made possible by a bountiful growing season and by local residents' enthusiastic take-up of the new fortnightly green waste service, says General Manager, Dr Catherine Dale.
"It is good to see that more people are using their new garden organics bins now than ever before," said Dr Dale. "The free mulch is a great outcome of the new service and I invite residents to collect some for their gardens to complete the cycle."
Giving away the free mulch will make room for the storage of more organic material at the waste management facilities during 2014.
Residents can collect the free raw shredded mulch at the waste management facilities until stocks last from 8am-12pm and from 2pm until closing time during opening hours. A loader will be available to help at Surf Beach and Brou. (There will not be a loader at the Moruya Transfer Station but residents can hand-load shredded mulch for free there all year round).
Please bring a tarp to secure your load.
