On Saturday 10 August, from 1 - 3pm, there will be a free Streetwise program run by pro skaters Marty Girotto and Sam Giles of Skateboarding Australia at the Broulee skate park.

At their Streetwise Skate Clinic, Marty and Sam will teach the basics and coach participants on how to use and have fun with their skateboard.

To participate, just download a Skateboarding Australia membership form from council's website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au.

Mayor of Eurobodalla Shire Council, Lindsay Brown, says both council and Skateboarding Australia aim to promote the growth and development of skateboarding by providing opportunities for young skaters to participate and learn - such as regular Streetwise programs, competitions, coaching clinics and games.

"Come and meet the team at Broulee on Saturday and learn from a couple of the best skateboard teachers. It will be a great opportunity to get active and have some fun," said Cr Brown.

The Mayor says the Broulee skate clinic supports council's objective to promote Eurobodalla as a healthy and active shire and as a great place to live and will be followed by another skate, scooter and BMX event at Narooma in October.

"The next event will be held at Narooma skate park on Saturday 5 October and will include clinics, pro demos and competitions," Cr Brown said.
