The latest tourism statistics from Tourism Research Australia (TRA) show some positive signs for the Eurobodalla's tourism economy.
The coastal trip south of Sydney has just beat the north coast as the best place to holiday, says Eurobodalla Shire Council's Divisional Manager for Economic Development, Andrew Greenway.
"The TRA data analysis commissioned by council shows the Eurobodalla outperformed the rest of the state and the south coast region in the quarter ending 31 March 2013," said Mr Greenway.
He says the Eurobodalla's share of overnight domestic visitors in NSW during the March 2013 quarter increased from 3.2% in 2012 to 3.7%.
"This is a great indication of where the local tourism economy is headed and we need to make sure these results continue," Mr Greenway said.
A sign of potential future growth has been the performance of the eurobodalla.com.au website which council uses to promote the region.
"Unique visitors to eurobodalla.com.au were up by 36.9% to 161,247 in the 2012/13 financial year. This shows that many more people are using the website to plan a visit to the Eurobodalla," said Mr Greenway.
