Council will once again be showing all the healthy and active things that are available to local residents when it holds the second Live Life Eurobodalla Expo at Riverside Park in Moruya on Saturday 22 March from 9am – 1pm.
The Live Life Eurobodalla Expo will bring together a number of local businesses and community groups that are committed to encouraging more healthy and active lifestyles and kick-off with a free healthy breakfast and entertainment by the Deep River Choir.
Demonstrations, workshops and competitions will run throughout the morning and there will be opportunities to try out a wide range of healthy products and services. The University of Canberra's mobile health clinic will be there providing free mini-health checks and you can also help celebrate the announcement of Eurobodalla's 2014 Senior Citizen of the Year.
Mayor Lindsay Brown says the Expo will offer something for everyone. "The Live Life Eurobodalla Expo is all about helping residents take on the challenge of getting active and eating well, so come along and see what's available that might suit you," said Cr Brown.
He says over the last two and a half years, the Live Life Eurobodalla project has offered many opportunities for residents to participate in a wide range of activities including exercise classes, cycling, swimming, cooking, gardening and health screens, to name a few.
"For the second year, the Expo will bring all these opportunities together. If you haven't already become a Live Life Eurobodalla member, you can do it on the day. It's free and you will be joining more than 1000 people who have already taken up the challenge of getting fit and healthy," Cr Brown said.
If you have a health or fitness/recreation business and would be interested in holding a stall at the Live Life Eurobodalla Expo, or you would like to get involved in some other way, please call 4474 7470 or 4474 7438. Stall holder application forms are available from council's website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au. You can register your interest until Friday 7 March.
The Live Life Eurobodalla project is funded through the Australian Government's Healthy Communities Initiative that aims to reduce overweight and obesity levels in more disadvantaged members of the community.
