Mayor Lindsay Brown says that the new master plans for Broulee's recreation and open spaces are great examples of how the community and Eurobodalla Shire Council can successfully work together.

"Extensive consultation over a long time and the engagement and enthusiasm of the groups in the process really helped council to capture the community's views in the revised plans," said Cr Brown.

"Together we have achieved a lot in the six years since council first adopted the Master Plans for the area in 2007. It has been a fabulous joint effort."

The Broulee Landscape Master Plans were adopted at council's December 2013 meeting and Cr Brown says the consultation process involved key community groups as well as two rounds of public exhibition.

"The plans include expansion of Broulee Surf Club, the relocation of the Broulee Board Riders to the Surf Club Precinct and emergency vehicle access to North Broulee beach," Cr Brown said.

"Council and the community identified opportunities that will preserve the character of the area such as dune and bush regeneration, landscaping and public art. We also addressed issues such as community safety, shared use and consolidation of facilities."
