Yarranabbe Park welcomes Sea's Nest

Published: 12 February 2016

Yarranabbe Park in Rushcutters Bay is now home to a new public artwork titled ‘Sea’s Nest’. The sculpture was created by Professor Yangen Zhang from China and was recently procured by the Woollahra Public Art Trust.

The artist found inspiration for the artwork from the shape of an egg, which implies the stages of human life - being born, growing up, and passing away.

The sculpture is constructed of stainless steel and brick, measures 2.6m long x 1.9m high and wide, and it weighs an impressive 1.5 tonnes.
