Join us at our Katoomba Solstice Celebration on Saturday, 23 June 2018. The FREE multi-venue family-friendly celebration is on in the Katoomba CBD from 11am to 5pm.
Up to 50 local musicians will entertain from 12 locations, including two stages and pop-up performance spaces. There’ll also be kid’s activities including henna art, face painting and origami.
“Council is proud to be supporting local musicians and local businesses,” Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said.
“The Katoomba Solstice Celebration follows our very successful Katoomba Live and Local event in April which showcased the breadth of our local talent. It also links local artists with businesses and provides some entertainment for those who may travel to Katoomba, unaware that the Winter Magic Festival has been cancelled this year.
“Also, look out on the day for Katoomba Chamber of Commerce’s ‘4 Sisters Yulefest Window Competition’.”
Venues hosting artists for the Katoomba Solstice Celebration include the Avalon, St Hildas, Vintage Emporium, Platform Gallery, Hominy Bakery, Katoomba Street Café, Rex Livingston and Gallery ONE88.
The stages will be located at the Town Centre arcade, as well as at the corner of Katoomba and Waratah Streets. The activities for kids will be held at the Senior Citizen’s Lounge in the Town Centre arcade.
Programs can be picked up on the day at the performance spaces and Katoomba train station. The program is also available on Council’s Facebook page.
