Alcohol restrictions will remain in place in Tennant Creek for a further six months

Barkly Regional Council welcomes the Liquor Commission's announcement that the current restrictions will remain in place for a further six months with minor changes to trading hours. Council submitted a detailed response to the Liquor Commission urging them to give the current restrictions time to work. A copy of Council’s letter is available below. Council recommended leaving the current restrictions in place for 12 months, followed by a comprehensive review to measure the effectiveness of the restrictions. Council looks forward to working with Government to develop a long-term strategy on alcohol for the region.
