Award nomination for Pomonal Hall project

Ararat Rural City Council has received the nod as a finalist in the LGPro 2017 Awards for Excellence.
Council’s successful delivery of the Pomonal Hall Redevelopment has earned a nomination in the Community Assets and Infrastructure (projects $1.5 million and under) category.
Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Paul Hooper said the nomination was great recognition for the hard work of many.
“The Pomonal Hall project was the result of a strong working partnership between State Government, Local Government and passionate community members,” he said.
“Ararat Rural City Council officers and the Pomonal community spent countless hours canvassing support to see the project finally up and running after years of lobbying.
“The end result is a beautiful modern venue that is accessible to all ages and abilities. It is the pride of the Pomonal community and will be used as a gathering place for generations to come.”
The $985,000 Pomonal Hall redevelopment was officially opened by Member for Western Victoria Region, Gayle Tierney in September 2016. It has since been well utilised by the Pomonal community for a range of functions and events.
The LGPro Awards for Excellence celebrate the fantastic work of individuals and teams in the Local Government sector across Victoria. Winners will be announced at the 2017 LGPro Annual Conference Dinner on Thursday, February 23 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
