Wollongong City Council will support the RSPCA Open Day on Sunday 10 June with free microchips for your dogs and cats.

Staff from Council will attend the RSPCA Illawarra Open Day to answer questions about your responsibilities as a pet owner. There will be educational material to collect, free microchips for your dog or cat, a sausage sizzle and reduced rates for adopting a rescue pet.

Jarrod Costello, Compliance and Regulation Manager, said: “Council supports the RSPCA Open Day as all pet owners should have their pets microchipped and registered.

“Besides free microchipping on the day, you can also talk with Council staff and RSPCA members about your pets. There will also be information on the adoption of animals as well as reduced rates if you do decide to purchase an adoption pet.”

The Open Day will be held at the RSCPA Illawarra, 54 Industrial Road, Unanderra, from 10am to 3pm.
