Kingston Council expresses condolences after plane crash in Mordialloc

Kingston Council has expressed its condolences following a fatal plane crash in Mordialloc on Friday night.

Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos said he was saddened to hear that a 50-year-old pilot had died during the accident near Moorabbin airport.

“Our thoughts are with the pilot’s family and also with the local community who have been shocked by the crash in nearby Scarlet Street,” Cr Staikos said. “Thankfully no one else was injured and only limited damage reported at this stage.”  

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will now investigate the cause of the accident.

“Council will ensure that all local residents are kept informed of the outcomes of this investigation as soon as a finding is made,” Cr Staikos said.

Kingston Council is now assisting Emergency Services with the clean-up in the area and anyone  requiring assistance can contact us on 1300 653 356.
