Celebrate Kingston’s Neighbourhood Houses at the Community heART exhibition

Kingston’s active neighbourhood houses will be showcased in a ‘living exhibition’ this month at Kingston Arts Centre.

Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos said the innovative exhibition celebrates the incredible community and creativity generated through neighbourhood houses.

“This ‘living exhibition’ showcases the critical role Neighbourhood Houses play for many residents and celebrates the dedication of the local volunteer committees that steer them. Come along to see the diverse works and stories created by local residents and get a taste of the many activities on offer.”

Free workshops on as part of the exhibition include yoga, desktop publishing, watercolours, jewellery making, knitting, mosaics, creative writing and much more. 

“Kingston is home to nine fantastic neighbourhood houses that help build community connections, build skills and offer a creative outlet for us all,” Cr Staikos said.

Neighbourhood Houses are supported by the Department of Health and Human Services and the City of Kingston.

 The free Community heart exhibition is on show May 2-25 at Kingston Arts Centre in Moorabbin.
