Next week, the Moree Community Library is hosting Come-by-Chance farmer Cathie Colless to talk about her adult novel ‘Diamonds in the Dust’ and children’s story book ‘Yum Yum’ on 14 June 2018.
The inspiration for ‘Diamonds in the Dust’ was the women of the land and their extraordinary way that they deal with life in the rural and remote communities of Australia. These women are ‘Australia’s unrecognised assets’.
The book captures the heart of Australian farming life and ordinary but colourful and resilient characters who literally carve a place for themselves and their families in the dirt.
Yum Yum … Where Does It Come From? enables children to make a connection between various animals, plants and the produce that is grown on farms for our food, clothing and everyday life.
This book is a rhyming tale with illustrations that explore farm produce as being fresh and natural and that farmer’s care for their animals and their land.
Come and join us on 14 June 2018 at the Moree Community Library with Cathie Colless for the reading of Yum Yum … Where Does It Come From? during Storytime at 11am or at 5pm for an inspirational talk on ‘Diamonds in the Dust’.
