Elsternwick Golf Course returned to public parkland
Bayside City Council 25 Jun 2018

Bayside Council, in conjunction with the Elsternwick Park Coalition is holding a community celebration to mark the transition of the former Elsternwick Golf Course to a proposed Urban Forest.

Join us for a sausage sizzle and picnic in the park this Sunday 1 July from 12pm-2pm.

This is the first step in transforming the site to an environmentally-focussed parkland for the whole community to enjoy.

Over the coming weeks, Council will be carrying out works to make the former golf course area safe for public access. The park will remain open for public use, dogs must be on-leash at all times.

Later this year, Council will commence the master planning process to develop concept plans for the future environmentally-focussed reserve in the area of Elsternwick Park North.

All community members are welcome to attend the picnic in the park on Sunday and share in this occasion.

Following a decision by Council at its 19 June meeting, Ovals 3 & 4 will be reactivated for sports use to accommodate the growing demand for sporting ovals in Bayside.

We will be holding a community information session to discuss the use of the ovals on Sunday 8 July from 11am-1pm at the south shelter between Ovals 3 & 4.

You can also provide feedback on Ovals 3 & 4 online from 2 July at www.yoursay.bayside.vic.gov.au
