Council is introducing changes to its development application process that will help reduce the use of paper and streamline lodgement.
From 1 July 2018 Council will only require one copy of each document and one set of A3 plans when a customer submits a development application. Lodgement can also be made electronically via email to [email protected]
Council’s Director of Planning and Sustainability Lindsay Usher said the changes were a first step in transitioning the development application process to a new electronic system.
“The future of DAs is electronic and this change is just the first step of many that will help our customers interact with us more easily and efficiently.”
Council offers a free development pre-lodgement service to help customers understand the planning controls that relate to their property and the development assessment process. Preliminary advice can be provided and questions answered about renovations, new builds and larger developments before work on a development application is undertaken.
No appointment is necessary, just call, email or drop in to discuss your plans with one of Council’s development officers.
