Drought Support Program funding available to community groups

Drought has gripped the Balonne Shire for the past six years and has impacted on all of our communities. To help ease the impact the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors, through the Balonne Shire Council is offering community groups funding through the Community Drought Support Program.

The program supports local communities within the Balonne Shire by allocating funds to organisations who demonstrate the ability to deliver events and activities which provide connectedness, social wellbeing and increased access to support services for drought-affected community members.

Council invites community organisations, schools and sporting clubs to submit a proposal for an activity or event, which meets the objectives of the grant.

Events or activities must be completed by 31 December, 2018.

Application forms must be lodged by 4pm on Friday 29 June, 2018.
