The next East Gippsland Shire Council Meeting will be held in Orbost as part of Council’s commitment to making its meetings more accessible to residents.
It will be held on Tuesday, July 3 from 1.00 pm at the Orbost Customer Service Centre in Ruskin Street.
Mayor Cr Joe Rettino said Council resolved at its December 2017 meeting to hold three Council Meetings outside Bairnsdale during 2018 to provide more opportunity for community members to take part.
“The Orbost meeting is the third meeting to be held outside Bairnsdale this year, following meetings in Omeo in April and Lakes Entrance in June.
"Both meetings were well attended,” Cr Rettino said.
“At the end of the meeting, there will be an opportunity for community members to join councillors for an afternoon tea; I extend an invitation for all interested members of the community to join us.
"My fellow Councillors and I are looking forward to speaking with residents and ratepayers in the Orbost region next week.”
Before the meeting, councillors will inspect nearby facilities and meet with local anglers to celebrate the completion of the upgraded Brodribb River boat ramp.
As with the previous meetings, live streaming will be available for the Orbost meeting.
The agenda for next month's meeting will be available on council’s website and Customer Service Centres on Friday, June 29 from 1.00 pm.
Requests to speak on agenda items are welcome, as are written questions on any matter and presentations from organisations undertaking projects to support Council’s vision.
Forms are required, some restrictions apply and deadlines vary.
The forms to participate in council meetings are available at our Customer Service Centres.
