The upgrade will enable the area to be maintained to a standard to meet community expectations. From Monday, 2 July the park will close for three weeks to allow the new grass to germinate.
Mayor Graeme Hanger OAM said the park was a popular spot for many residents to take their pets and the area helps build a sense of community.
“Off leash areas encourage the dogs to run around and socialise. It is also an opportunity for pet owners to meet with like-minded people,” he said.
“The short wait during the closure period will allow the grass to establish and provide a lovely area for the pets to play.
