Annual Pesticide/Herbicide Spray

Herbicide treatment will be applied on the following Parks and Reserves from 06/08/18 to 06/09/18 (weather dependant).

All spraying will be done at night with the target being - Broadleaf and Annual weeds.

Spray signs will be placed within all sites weeks prior to spraying, with further details 24 hours before actual spraying.

We maintain and manage a wide range of local sportsgrounds.

These cater for soccer, hockey, rugby league, rugby union, cricket and netball and more. Also available are cricket practice nets and netball hoops and courts. Many of the sportsgrounds have timed lights for night sports.

User groups include sports organisations, schools, business corporations and the general public.

We have a user-pays system, levying fees on the groups who wish to hire sports fields exclusively for the purpose of organised sport. The income generated maintains the facilities to a high standard. Fees and charges depend upon the type of facility being hired and the user group, for example there is a commercial rate, senior rate, juniors/schools rate and social/casual rate.

Hire of parks and reserves is restricted to 32 hours per week / per ground in Winter to maintain the playing surfaces in good condition.

Council offers a Mobile Information Service that informs hirers and users of the status of our sports grounds and facilities.

The recorded message is updated at approximately 8am daily but it may be changed again later that morning if the weather clears. Note that some grounds drain better than others, so some may stay open, or open sooner.

Cammeray Park

Between Ernest St, Park Ave and Cammeray Rd

Nine-hole golf course, football and cricket field, four tennis courts, public toilets, change rooms, spectator seating, kindergarten, community hall and timed lights.

Forsyth Park

Montpellier St, Neutral Bay

Two hockey fields, two cricket fields, change rooms with showers and toilets, seats, bush pathway, scout hall, community centre and timed lights.

Primrose Park

Young St, Cammeray

Four tennis courts, two football fields, hockey field, cricket fields and cricket nets, change rooms, car park, public toilets, hockey and tennis club houses, art and craft centre, bush pathway, seating and timed lights.

St Leonards Park and North Sydney Oval 1 & 2

Cnr Miller St and Ridge St, North Sydney

The No 1 Oval has been used as a cricket and football ground for over 100 years, and is considered one of Sydney's finest ovals with many original features. No 2 Oval is close by in St Leonards Park. Playground equipment, bowling green, two netball courts, cricket net, shelters, seating, public toilets, spectator seating.

Tunks Park

Off Brothers Ave, Cammeray

Children's playground, car park, five cricket fields (1 turf, 4 synthetic), five mini soccer fields, two football fields, change rooms, public toilets, shelter sheds, bush pathway.

Waverton Park
