Football will return to Proctor Park from Friday 15 June following the completion of the $2.6 million redevelopment of three playing fields by Bathurst Regional Council.

Acting Mayor Cr Bobby Bourke said the extensive works program saw fields 1, 2 and 3 redeveloped.

“These fields are new sand profile international standard football fields and this is a significant capital investment into the continued future growth and development of soccer in the local community and in the region.”

The fields have been reshaped, new drainage and irrigation installed and new turf laid. The power supply to the Proctor Park sub-station has also been upgraded.

The work has been undertaken as part of Council’s masterplan for the ongoing staged development of the Proctor Park Football precinct, in consultation with Bathurst District Football.

The Proctor Park development facts and figures:

· Construction of three new sand profile international standard football fields.

· Placement & establishment of 33,000m2 of legend couch turf.

· Installation of new field furniture including goals posts & player benches & shelters.

· Installation of new irrigation system.

· Installation of 1400m of stormwater drainage.

· Installation of full subsoil drainage system to all new fields.

· 800m of concrete dish drain.

· 350m of concrete footpath.

· 260m of concrete retaining wall.

· 550m of spectator fencing including gates.

The State Government contributed $150,000 towards the project through the Asian Cup Legacy Fund.
