EPA Victoria is reviewing the Environment Protection (Residential Noise) Regulations 2008, regarding air conditioner noise.
Under the new rules, people would be able to use their air conditioners:
for one hour more, even where it can be heard in a neighbouring residence (time extended from 10pm to 11pm) at any time of the day or night when the relevant Chief Health Officer has declared a Heat Health Alert (i.e. on extremely hot days).People are invited to provide feedback on this proposal.
