The popular pop-up ice skating rink will start taking shape in the CBD as the countdown to Ballarat Winter Festival begins.
The pop-up ice skating rink returns to Armstrong Street South, next to the Ballarat Town Hall from 30 June.
Attracting almost 17,000 skaters last year, the popular activity is set to have families from far and wide lacing up their skates during the 2018 winter school holidays.
To facilitate the skating rink construction, operation period and removal, the following road closure will be required:
Armstrong Street South, from Sturt Street to rear of Ballarat Town Hall, from 6am on Monday 18 June.This closure will remain in place until Wednesday 25 July at this stage; the road may re-open earlier.
Access into Bath Lane will be maintained, with drivers advised to approach from Dana Street.
Access to the Myer loading dock will be unimpeded, with deliveries access available via the dock from the Dana Street direction.
The Ballarat Visitor Information long vehicle/caravan parking will be relocated from the rear of the Ballarat Town Hall to its Sturt Street entrance.
The Taxi Rank will be relocated from outside Myer to two angled car parks outside the Central Square Post Office in Armstrong Street South.
The pop-up ice skating rink will open on 30 June for a two week period over the school holidays, with the final day being 15 July.
Eight one-hour sessions will be held daily at 9am, 10.30am, 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm, 4.30pm, 6pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are now on sale from $8 child, $15 adult and $30 family (two adults and two children).
