Road closures in August

Street markets and roadworks will cause road closures throughout Hobart during August. You can view the full list of road closures on the Temporary Road Closures page, but some of the notable closures include:

Collins Street between Murray and Elizabeth streets will be closed while construction work takes place at 40 Elizabeth Street. The road will be closed at the following times:

Collins Street between Campbell Street and Sun Street is also closed for an extended period of time. The road is closed for the rest of the year and up until 29 August 2019 due to building construction works.

Murray Street will be closed between Liverpool Street and Collins Street 7.30 pm on Friday 10 August until 5 am on Monday 13 August. The road will be closed while a large crane is removed from the Icon Complex.

Due to crane works, Churchill Avenue, between Broadwaters Parade and Nicholas Drive, will be closed to traffic for five 15 minute periods between 9.30 am and 3 pm on Wednesday 1 August. A detour will be available for cars and smaller vehicles, while larger vehicles may experience a delay of up to 15 minutes.

Nelson Road, between Rialannah Road and Nelson Close, will be closed from 7 am to 5 pm on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 August. This closure is due to roadworks.

A detour will be created along Rialannah Road and Nelson Close. Please follow traffic signs when approaching the area.

Bathurst Street (between Murray Street and Elizabeth Street) and Criterion Street are closed from 6 am - 3 pm every Sunday for the Farm Gate Market.

Salamanca Place is closed to traffic each Saturday from 5.30 am to 6 pm for the Salamanca Market. More information can be found here: Salamanca Market website
