Strathfield Council is proud to take part in the 22nd National Tree Day on Sunday 29 July at Cooke Park! Roll up your sleeves, put on your gloves and plant a seed of hope as you participate in the country’s largest community tree planting and nature-care event.
Strathfield Council invite everyone who cares about Strathfield or the natural environment to register and help in making a difference to your community and take on an active role in creating positive environmental change. Volunteers will be provided with a free lunch burger and partners, Phil Gilbert Toyota, will be providing official planting shirts and gloves to keep!
There are a number of highlights at this year’s event as Council have partnered with Cooks River Alliance who will be demonstrating sustainable rainfall catchment management with their impressive Cooks River catchment model. Council have commissioned Ocean Action Pod to be on site to educate on plastic pollution and Phil Gilbert Toyota will be present to demonstrate their new family friendly, low emission car with its renowned reliability.
There are prizes to be won as Council will give participating volunteers a native plant to brighten up their garden and will also run a prize compost bin raffle with 3 different models to be won!
