Senior of the Year nominations open

The City of Ballarat is encouraging the community to nominate Ballarat’s outstanding older residents for the 2018 Senior of the Year Awards. 

  Every year, the City of Ballarat’s Senior of the Year Awards recognise local residents, 55 years and older, who have made a significant contribution to the Ballarat community.  

  The 2018 Senior of the Year Award categories are:  

Mayor’s Award for Ballarat Senior of the Year  Promotion of Multiculturism Award  Healthy Active Living Award  Veteran Community Award, and Senior Achiever Awards 

Nominations for the Awards are now open and close on Friday 31 August, 2018. Complete the nomination form available online at ballarat.vic.gov.au 

The winners will be announced at a Ballarat Town Hall reception on Wednesday 26 September - the opening event of the 2018 Ballarat Seniors Festival.

The winners of the 2017 City of Ballarat Senior of the Year Awards were:  Mayor’s Award for Ballarat Senior of the Year: Anne Tudor Ballarat Senior Healthy and Active Living Award: Kathleen Hobson Ballarat Senior Achiever Awards: Dr Tony Cole, Heather McCallum and Werner Oellering.
