Fairfield City Council is helping to keep local cats safe by offering a free microchipping day for owners.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone emphasised the importance of this service. “Microchipping your pet cat is a legal requirement under the Companion Animals Act. But it also ensures that any lost or missing pets can be easily identified and reunited with their owners,” Mayor Carbone said. “Pets are important members of our families and we know how heartbreaking it can be when they go missing. Microchipping ensures owners can be found when a vet, animal shelter or council scans the chip of a lost pet. “Council encourages all residents to have their cat microchipped and registered.”
